Dashing Thru the Snow

On Nov. 21, thirteen experienced hikers braved heavy snow cover to slosh up to the summit of Coahuila Mtn. (5,634'). The weather was ideal, and the view of the snow-clad valleys below made the climb worthwhile. Certain portions of the trail were covered with two-foot drifts, making a stiff workout of an otherwise easy hike. Members of the group alternated in breaking the trail. The trip reminded many of us of pleasant winter days in other parts of the country.
