Documents

These are public disclosure documents obtained from the Port of Los Angeles regarding work planned for Knoll Hill. The project will involve a road widening, grading, fill dirt, retaining walls, and pilings to support the road widening. The cost in the millions. All work is to be done under a categorical exemptions for an EIR. Despite a public documents request made on August 16, 2007, the Port did not respond until September 12, 2007, four days after the deadline lapsed to challenge their filing for a categorical exemption. There are still missing construction documents and an incomplete document in this list. The files are offered here without further explanation for use by activists and interested parties.

There are nine (9) files in all associated with this massive project provided by the port through a public records disclosure request. (These are all mostly large files that will take time to download, especially on a slow link.)

Port of Los Angeles land use planning maps are available in our map room. Here's a clip showing the Knoll Hill area.

KH-1- Land use map
KH-2 - Land use map with faint street overlay on Knoll Hill

On the above two maps (KH-1 and KH-2), the green area on Knoll Hill desigantes open space. The brown area next to the hill designates "institutional use." The same designations is given, for example, to the Boy Scout facility north of Cabrillo Beach. The brown area covers the low lands on the south-east side of Knoll Hill.
