Cabrillo Section gives copier

A new copier was put into service at the Angeles Chapter office Feb. 7. The purchase was funded by the current operating budget and by the Harry Goldstein Memorial Fund (HGMF). The HGMF was established by the Cabrillo Section, which disbanded after 30 years in 2001. The section fostered preservation of scenic areas and sponsored bus trips in the western U.S. and Canada. The fund maintains a balance and accepts donations for furniture and equipment for the Chapter office.

Thank you, office vols

Two short-term volunteers served front desk duty late last year. Dan Model also assisted in the ExComm election ballot count. Donald Montgomery started a list of environmental attorney resources. Jan Kidwell, who first volunteered at Chapter office in 1996, has returned several times in the past two years to handle a list of office jobs including donation processing and database operation. She completed her most recent session in January but continues as Air Quality Chair. Rita Unger ended three years of Tuesday morning service in November. Rita's regular jobs included managing distribution of Southern Sierrans and Schedules.

The Southern Sierran is looking for volunteer writers to serve on the editorial staff. Writing experience required (not necessarily journalism).
