Southern Sierran
Angeles Chapter Institutes Electronic Voting
By Joe Young
Chapter Elections Committee Chair

For the first time, the Angeles Chapter will conduct its election of Chapter Executive Committee (ExComm) and the election of regional group executive committees electronically.

In order to vote, you must know your Sierra Club membership number. It is an eight digit number found on your membership cards and is printed on the address label of this issue of the Southern Sierran. It is also found on the address label on your Schedule of Activities.

In order to vote, type this: https://www.esc-vote.com/angeles in the address field.
Make sure that you type "https" so that you reach the secure voting web site.

When you have reached the secure voting website, you will see the list of candidates for Chapter Executive Committee.

There are SEVEN candidates running for FIVE open positions on Chapter ExComm. Please vote for four or fewer candidates. Statements for each of the candidates may be viewed online, as well as their pictures.

You will also be directed to the regional group to which you belong. The number of candidates varies from one regional group to another. Instructions regarding each regional group election will be shown. In addition, you may write in candidates in each group election. You may vote in only the regional group where you reside. Statements of the candidates may be viewed on line. However, not all regional groups submitted candidate statements.

If you choose to do so, you may ask for and receive a paper ballot. To request a paper ballot, please visit: angeleshelp@electionservicescorp.com or call toll-free 1-866-720-4357 available 6 AM to 2 PM PT, Monday through Friday. Please have your membership number handy.

Ballots must be received by December 1, 2009 in order to be counted.
