lot: in Pasadena take California Blvd to its west end at Arroyo Blvd, turn
right and go one block north to the driveway on the left, drive down the driveway

day hike of these two peaks near Julian. Oakzanita is 8 miles round trip,

trail. These are the prettiest hikes in the area. We’ll have a naturalist

climb two peaks on Tejon Ranch, usually inaccessible to hikers, and hear about
plans to increase public access on the ranch property. Strenuous hike, 10
miles rt, 2700 ft gain, with some cross-country travel. Group size is limited
by Tejon Ranch and the date may be subject to change. Contact reservationist

O: Audubon Center to Rose Bowl Hike: We will begin in Debs Park with
a guided-tour of the Audubon Center, a cutting-edge green building that is
a model of sustainable architecture. It was certified as the nation’s first
LEED Platinum building from the U.S. Green Building Council, the nation’s
leading authority on sustainable building practices. It is the first building
in the city of Los Angeles to be entirely powered by on-site solar systems.
We will then hike 8 miles, 800' gain, along the historic Arroyo Seco to the
Rose Bowl on bike paths and horse trails. We will set up a car shuttle. Meet
at 9 am at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena in Parking Lot “F” on the corner of Arroyo
Blvd. and Seco St. Bring lunch, 2 lts water, hat, sturdy walking shoes and

O: Nature Knowledge Workshop: Join the Natural Science Section for
a weekend of discovery, now in its 42nd year. From our streamside camp accommodations
in the San Bernardino Mtns, we’ll explore our natural surroundings on easy
guided walks or moderate hikes led by our professional naturalists. They will
also share their expertise in a variety of natural history topics such as
reptile, bird, plant, mammal, insect, Native American, and geology studies
through hands on and special interest workshops. We will begin with dinner
and a program Fri evening and end with lunch Sun. Participants must be 13
years or older (under 18 must be accompanied by adult). LTC credit available.
Includes 2 nights lodging in dormitory cabins (own sleeping bag), six full-course
meals, and instruction. Tent or car camping is also available. Reservation
