Welcome 20's, 30's, & 40's!


You can participate in many different activities with the Orange County Sierra Singles (OCSS) 20s and 30s group. We have easy hikes, all day hikes and conditioning hikes. If you prefer social events we host concerts, movie nights, dances and other social functions that allow you get to know our members in a relaxed atmosphere. While we encourage membership you don't have to be a member to participate in our events. For more information contact Charles Geller at eduright@aol.com.

OCT 26 SAT 6:00 AM 20S/30S/40S ADVANCED HIKE TO CUCAMONGA PEAK
Strenuous 3,900 ft, 12 mi R/T gain hike through Icehouse Saddle (7,580') to Cucamonga Peak (8,859') near Mount Baldy in the San Gabriels. Expansive Southern California views including all San Gabriel Peaks, Saddleback, and the basin. Bring min 4qts water, hiking boots or trail shoes, ten essentials, lunch, snacks, hat, sunscreen, jacket, and $ for optional dinner on return. Experienced hikers only. Limit 12. Get your Evening workout outdoors. Join us at El Toro Park in the City of Lake Forest for a moderately paced 6 mile roundtrip walk on the paved Aliso Creek Trail. Slight uphill grade. Meet at El Toro Park in front of the restrooms at Larkwood Lane & Arrowwood Street in Lake Forest. Bring water, snacks, and flashlight. Optional dinner afterwards. Rain cancels. NOV 8-9 FRI 8:00 PM 20S/30S/40S SAN CLEMENTE NIGHTTIME BEACH WALK AND PICNIC
Join us on this easy, flat, 8 mile R/T social nighttime walk along the beach in San Clemente to a secluded picnic spot on the San Onofre Beach. Bring 2qts water, headlamp, warm clothes, food, beverages, sweets, and stories. Campfire possible depending on number of participants. Meet at 8:00pm at the South OC Carpool point, or 8:30pm at the pay machine at the San Clemente beach public parking lot. Leader: Charles G. Geller (eduright@aol.com). NOV 20 WED 6:00 PM 20S/30S/40S HICKS CANYON EVENING STROLL
Enjoy a moderate paced, 5 mile roundtrip mostly level urban walk on paved trail in Irvine. Bring water, snacks, warm clothes, and $$ for optional dinner afterward. Meet 6:00pm at the picnic tables at Hicks Canyon Community Park, 3864 View Park, Irvine, CA. The GPS instructions may take you to the Hicks Canyon Elementary school right across the street. DEC 6-13 20S/30S/40S HAWAII, BIG ISLAND ADVENTURE
Meet us at Kona International Airport (KOA) for a full week of easy-moderate 4-5 mile day hikes to waterfalls, volcanos & secluded beaches. Includes 7 nights shared lodging in a 2 bed, 2 bath condo at The Bay Club at Waikoloa Beach Resort and shared meals while at the condo. Airfare, rental cars, & gas are not included. DEC 6-7 FRI 8:00 PM 20S/30S/40S DARK SKY ASTRONOMY NIGHT HIKE
Let's venture above South Orange County to a panoramic viewpoint to view the dark night sky to see many stars, planets, shooting stars, and other heavenly bodies. 8 mi R/T moderate hike to the four corners clearing above Hwy 74. Enjoy the dark, calm, cool, crisp air of a night hike and the peaceful silence of night. Bring 2qts water, meal and snacks, headlamp w/spare batteries, blankets or sleeping bag, warm clothes, optional binoculars & star charts, warm beverages, and scary stories. DEC 13-20 20S/30S/40S HAWAII, MAUI ADVENTURE
Meet us at Kahului Airport (OGG) for a full week of easy-moderate 4-5 mile day hikes to waterfalls, volcanos & secluded beaches. Includes 7 nights shared lodging in a 1 bed, 1 bath condo at Kahana Falls Resort and shared meals while at the condo. Airfare, rental cars, & gas are not included. DEC 18 WED 5:30 PM 20S/30S/40S NEWPORT HARBOR CHRISTMAS BOAT PARADE AND DINNER
Join us to watch the 104th Annual Parade of decorated Yachts, Sailboats, and watercraft of all kinds as they tour around the Harbor. We will watch from Balboa Island, one of the best vantage points. Meet for dinner beforehand at 5:30pm at BJs Pizzeria, or at 7pm in front of the Fun Zone Boat Company. Bring $ for parking, $ 2 for R/T ferry ride, and $ if joining us for dinner. Viewing is free.
