Welcome to the Orange County Sierra Singles (OCSS)! We are a section of the Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club. While supporting the Sierra club in their environmental issues, our primary focus is on exploring and enjoying the wild areas around us. Orange County is an area rich in protected regional and wilderness parks and hundreds of miles of trails for us to explore!
We welcome people of all backgrounds and ages. We love to meet new people and make new friends, and many lasting friendships have been formed on our various events. You do not need to be single or be a Sierra Club Member in order to take part in our many outings and activities. From hiking and skiing, to movie nights and dances, you are sure to find an event you will enjoy and many new friends await you!

Orange County Sierra Singles invites you to an evening packed with lots of activities: Free Drawing. Find out all about our events with Little Hikers, 20s/30s, our award winning Weekly Conditioning Hikes, conservation outings, backpacks, ski trips, and Adventure Destinations. We will have a special introduction of the upcoming Winter Sports Program. Meet the current OCSS Management Committee and turn in your ballot for the 2010 Mgmnt Committee. Newcomers welcome to join the Sierra Club for $25 introductory rate, free gift. Meet at the Costa Mesa Neighborhood Community Center , 1845 Park Avenue , Costa Mesa . $3 Donation. Optional, bring a Thanksgiving side dish, potluck item or drinks and we will provide the turkey. Hosted by your Management Committee and OCSS Leaders. Bring A Friend! SOUTH DAKOTA BLACK HILLS
OCSS GENERAL MEETING
Monday Jan. 11, 6:30PM

Monthly Meeting: Visit America's least known playground with Mike Sappingfield, Sierra Sage outings leader and past ExComm chair. Mike will present photo highlights of his 2008 Chapter sponsored trip, including close-up encounters with buffalo, elk, deer, antelope, prairie dogs, wild burros, and a mountain lion. Wonderful photos of Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park, Devils Tower, The Badlands, Wind Cave and historic town of Deadwood will have you ready to sign up for a repeat trip in 2010. Social hour & program $3 donation. Meet 6:30 PM at the Costa Mesa Neighborhood Community Center, 1845 Park Ave., Costa Mesa. For optional potluck, bring a dish to share, your own utensils, plate and beverage.
ECUADOR: HIGHLANDS AND LOWLANDS

Monthly Program: Angeles Chapter world travelers, Tom and Carol Getz take us along on a Sierra Club National trip to Ecuador visiting Quito, bird habitats, mountains up to 14,000' and then deep into the Amazonian lowlands on the Napo River. Social hour & program $3 donation. Meet 6:30 PM at the Costa Mesa Neighborhood Community Center, 1845 Park Ave., Costa Mesa. For optional potluck, bring a dish to share, your own utensils, plate and beverage.
