| | Newcomers welcome. Join us for our monthly potluck immediately following the hikes. Small donation for utensils, drinks, burgers, hot dogs, charcoal. Meet in the picnic area of Turtle Rock Community Park. (405 Fwy, exit S at University/Jeffrey, L on Ridgeline, L on Turtle Rock, pass Sunnyhill, L into parking lot). | BOLSA CHICA ECOLOGICAL RESERVE NEWCOMER HIKE
| | O: [OCSS, OCG, PVSB] Easy paced, reasonably flat, 5 mile hike, approx 3 hrs. Newcomers Welcome. Enjoy the natural beauty of Bolsa Chica, one of the last remaining wetland ecosystems in Southern California. Meet 8 am Warner Ave parking lot (East corner of PCH and Warner next to trailer) Bring camera, water, sun protection, hat, light hiking boots. Ldrs: Gail Roy, Donna Specht, Steve Bradford, Pete Height.

| | O: Easy-paced 6 mi rt, 600' gain hike through rolling hills. Great for fit beginners. Join the Sierra Club at special $25 introductory rate and receive free gift. Meet 8:15 am (from 5 Fwy, N on Jamboree, or from 55 Fwy, E on Chapman, S on Jamboree. Then take Canyon View into parking area.) If park is closed, meet in Taco Bell parking lot, corner Chapman/Jamboree. Bring water, light hiking boots, $3 for parking or have permit. Rain cancels. Leaders: Sharon Kirk, Fran Penn.

| TURTLE ROCK NEWCOMER LOOP HIKE & FARMERS MARKET
| | O: Easy, socially paced 4-5 mile loop around turtle rock in Irvine. The loop will take 1-2 hours with optional Irvine Farmers Market afterward for shopping and lunch. Directions: From 405 North: Exit Jeffrey and head south. Jeffrey will become University. Left onto Ridgeline Drive, left onto Turtle Rock Drive. From 405 South: Exit Culver and head south. Left onto Campus, left on to Turtle Rock Drive. Meet at Turtle Rock Park - North Entrance off of Turtle Rock Drive just past Sunnyhill. (DO NOT turn on Sunnyhill, that is the East entrance for tennis.) Parking lot is on the left, down a slight incline.
