Angeles Chapter Outings

Come Explore with Us: Angeles Chapter offers over 4,000 outings each year, from local walks and trail hikes to international travel, led by our well-trained leaders. While a few of the most challenging outings are restricted to Sierra Club members, the overwhelming majority of them are open to the general public. Some trips have special restrictions due to safety or membership factors. Almost all are free. Participants should be prepared to follow the Rules of Conduct established by the Sierra Club and Angeles Chapter. To find an outing that interests you, you can:

Learn the Skills: Our Wilderness Travel Course teaches the basic skills needed to safely enjoy backpacking and backcountry travel. For more information on this, visit the Wilderness Training Committee's website.

Be a Leader: Our volunteer leaders are the backbone of this program. After hiking for a while, you may be interested in training to become an outings leader. For more information on this, see our Outings Leaders page.

Outings Committees: There are several Angeles Chapter committees that make this program a success. For more information on this, visit our Outings Management page.
