Meet 8:30 am at trailhead (From 118 Fwy take Balboa Blvd exit N 2 mi to Orozco St, turn L continuing 1/2 mi to end, L on Sesnon, pass parking lot, go 4 blocks to Neon. Turn R and park at end of street). Bring water, snack, lugsoles, hat, sunscreen. Rain cancels.

Leave early Thu am for daytime bus ride to spend Thanksgiving on the South Rim Grand Cyn National Park. Return to LA Sun pm. Enjoy spectacular vistas on dayhikes along the rim and into the canyon, and explore interesting architecture and cultural sites. Harder/easier options offered each day. Cost includes chartered bus, bus snacks/drinks, 3 nights lodging at Maswik Lodge (2 per room/2 beds; single signups welcome and will be paired with person of same gender), Sun meal on return trip. 6 mi, 1300' loss hike. We will start at the top of the San Gabriel Mtns at Bear Divide; hike the ridge to the Wilson Saddle with great views of the Valleys, then down the Los Pinetos Trail into the oaks at Wilson Ranch in Placerita Cyn SP. Car Shuttle. Meet at 8:30 am Walker Ranch trail head parking area (From Hwy 14 in Newhall take Placerita Cyn Rd exit, go E 3˝ mi, passing Placerita Cyn Park entrance, to dirt shoulder parking for Walker Ranch on R. Do not block gate). Bring 2 qts water, snack, lugsoles, hat, sunscreen. Rain cancels.

Strenuous 10 mi loop, 2500' gain hike on scenic Boney Mtn trails. Meet 8 am Pacific Palisades rideshare pt or 9 am Mishe Mokwa trailhead (PCH 16 mi W of Malibu Cyn Rd, N 7 winding mi on Yerba Buena Rd to parking area on R side 2 mi past ranger station). Stunning ocean vistas will accompany our ridgeline descent into the Arroyo Sequit Watershed and Leo Carrillo SP. Return along seldom-used beach with tide pools or short car shuttle.
